Assumpta is a Ghanaian-Nigerian multidisciplinary creative, social entrepreneur and curator. She leads Omoge & Co. Projects, a curatorial thought lab that functions at the intersection of art, experiences and dialogues, facilitating an inclusive and sustainable ecosystem for women in contemporary arts. Assumpta 
believes in cultivating spaces that empower women “to simply be and become”- amplifying our diverse creative identities, advocating for inclusivity, visibility, and sustainability in our creative pathways to significantly contribute to our economic advancement.

"Her Palette w/ Assumpta Dickens" is a curated dialogue series by Omoge & Co. Projects, showcasing the diverse voices and artistic visions of women in contemporary arts across the African continent, uplifting their talents, stories, and contributions. Through intimate interviews and captivating dialogues, we delve into the rich tapestry of creativity, culture, and identity. Celebrating the transformative power of art, community support, and collaboration.

In this episode Zohra Opoku speaks to Assumpta, sharing an exclusive insight into her new body of work, "Give Me Back My Black Dolls" — A captivating doll installation currently on view at Kunsthal Mechelen in Belgium until March 2, 2025.

Zohra reflects on her childhood as a Black girl growing up in East Germany, unpacking themes of identity, colour politics, and representation. She shares personal stories of repainting Caucasian dolls to resemble herself and revisits empowering yet complex childhood narratives that shaped her understanding of race and belonging.
